Political Campaigns

During COVID I lost all my clients. It became a really rough time for me overall but I was extremely determined to make it work.

I began looking a temporary or seasonal work and came across a group by the name of Wildfire Contact, a political advertising agency based in Iowa. I applied and after a couple of interviews was offered the gig! But they warned me that busy cycles aren’t what you think. The hours are long and the work is constant. And boy were they right.

The challenge was making sure I could keep up with the work. We were getting up to 4 new pieces per week and more than 25 edits per day. That sounds simple but not when you are editing multiple pieces, back to back and you have a very limited time frame of 1-2 hours to get it back to the team. So now you see 25 edits per day could be 10-15 hours per day as well. Early morning and late nights and weekends. But this gig taught me efficiency and speed. Which usually, you can’t do both. But in the political world, you have to! lol.

During my first cycle, I won the most creative piece of that cycle. Which was a scratch off! (seen below). I loved political campaigns so much, I returned for a second cycle!
